The unfortunate events of 9/11 have led to new legislation in New York relating to the installation of photoluminescent safety way guidance or egress systems to help staff and visitors to leave buildings over 75 feet high or above clearly and safely. There are obvious similarities in both codes and as an active member of the PSPA (Photoluminescent Safety Products Association), we are working to bring some unification between them and push for the recommendation to become legislation in Europe. Recent problems in London with power outages and the on-going threat of terrorism surely support the need for action.
