Each and every application requires a balance of initial tack, shear resistance and usually a degree of performance at elevated temperatures. Quite often these attributes can clash with each other, such as tack and shear or tack and temperature resistance. Experience has taught us to consider these trade-offs and arrive at the best solution to bring out the optimum performance of the tape for any given application.

Listed below are three of the outstanding double-sided products we can offer our customers to cover 95% of their splicing requirements, balancing performance and economy:

NovaFix HP

HP stands for High Performance and this double sided polyester filmic tape utilises a very aggressive solvent acrylic adhesive that will permanently splice virtually anything to anything and will withstand temperatures in excess of 180°C. It has a very high coatweight and this gives it excellent initial tack to immediately ‘wet out’ porous or irregular surfaces even under ‘flying splices’. Being a thin (0.23mm), high clarity film, NovaFix HP demonstrates extremely high shear strength. Basically, if you have a difficult material to splice or the machine speeds or temperatures are challenging then choose NovaFix HP.

NovaFix MP

NovaFix MP is a thinner, multi-purpose version of HP and utilises a lighter coatweight of the same high performance adhesive on a tissue carrier. The flexible nature of the non-woven tissue lends it’s use to more conformable applications such as splicing paper & board and heavy textiles. Where you need a good performance but economy is a factor, NovaFix MP provides the answer.

NovaFix GP

GP stands for General Purpose and this double sided, clear polypropylene coated with a very high tack rubber adhesive will splice almost any substrate where there is no exposure to high oven temperatures above 50°C.

We also specialise in repulpable splicing tapes into the paper industry and heat activated films for splicing materials that undergo exposure to really severe temperatures.
